Dr Peter Simpson is a Global executive with over 25 years of leadership in the areas of risk management, safety, health, wellbeing, security, sustainability/ESG, crisis management, governance and quality assurance. He has international experience in airlines, defence, regulators, industry bodies, and the banking & finance sector. Peter is passionate about leading organisations through customer-focused change and simplification, and about coaching and mentoring the next generation of diverse leaders.

He currently the Managing Director and Global Head of Safety, Security & ESG at Standard Chartered, where he oversees health, safety and wellbeing, operational and corporate security, and environmental, social and governance areas.

Dr Simpon is passionate about mental and physical health and wellbeing, and champions these fields both professionally and personally through community volunteering with Waves of Wellness Foundation; a mental health surf therapy charity, committed to changing lives by delivering for-purpose prevention programs. At Standard Chartered he sits on the Group Wellbeing Committee, Group Diversity & Inclusion expert panel, and Sustainability Steering Committee. He was a foundation member of the Disability Committee and has developed and championed several programs and frameworks to support staff and customers with visible and non-visible disabilities.

Dr Simpson hold Doctorate from Walden University, as well as MBA, MSc, MA (Theology), BSc and has completed the Board Ready board assurance course through Bond University. He is a member of the Institute of Community Directors Australia (ICDA) where he is studying a Diploma of Governance. He has been a Board member at Kingsway Community Care since January 2021.
